Our Appointments System

We operate a “Bookable on the Day” appointment system for patients wishing to see a GP or Nurse Practitioner Gillian MacArthur.

The telephone lines open at 08:00 daily.

Please note that it is not always possible to request a specific GP.

Pre-booked appointments are available with the Nurse Practitioner, Pharmacist, Treatment Room Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, Phlebotomist and Midwife.

Students

Medical and nursing students attend the practice on occasions. We hope that you will co-operate with us and help the students to learn about General Practice.  You will be informed of their presence in advance, and if you do not want them to be present at a consultation, your wishes will be respected. This will not affect your treatment in any way.

Home Visits

Telephone 01337 830765

If you need a home visit please try to phone the surgery as early as possible to help the clinicians plan their day. We will ask for a few details about the problem to assess the degree of urgency, and the doctor or nurse may call you back before arranging a visit. Home visits are available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability. They are not available for transport reasons only. Please remember that it takes much more of the clinician's time to see you at home and that there are better facilities at the surgery, so we would encourge you to attend the surgery if at all possible.

Transportation to Out-Patient Clinic

If you need transportation by the Scottish Ambulance Service you can book this yourself by using the Patient booking line: 0300 123 1236.This service should be only be used by those whose condition prevents them from using public transport.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment because this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters may be removed from the list.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.
